Hello, everyone! I am Min Zhang, who is an international student from China. I am a sophomore with a major in Dietetics, which is all about nutrition and life quality of people, and minor in Biomedical Science at Missouri State University. I am a member of Chicago Immersion Program. Today, we went to the Dream Center to volunteer and finished all services there. We focused on organizing supplies for homeless people.
Supply Organizing
The Dream Center is a charitable non-profit organization in Chicago. They help homeless people to get foods and provide house to some of them every year, which regards as their responsibility. A lot of volunteers, who are from all over the world help Chicago Dream center to complete their services.
Today, we back to the Dream Center to organize their storage and supplies in two rooms. In the first room, we organized the basic medical supplies that are idle on the shelf. In the second room, we had large amount of random tools, documents, clothes and gifts that are not performing useful work. We reorganized all stuffs and label them.
I feel so graceful that our services help Dream Center to get more spaces that can be put in more useful stuffs in two rooms for homeless people. We make in a line to pass down things, which is very effective in the teamwork. We got so many good ideas about how to serve better from team members in the process of organizing, and we gained the problem-solving skills in this service. I also very happy to see that we do have sufficient supply for homeless people.
Although we cannot solve the ultimate issue for them, we can serve to solve the problems in the ground floor currently. We just made some changes for the room, but it actually means a lot to the homeless people.

Organizing medical supplies.
